#MyLondonSupperclubs are a series of dinners at 68 and Boston, a wine bar in Greek Street, Soho from 29 July to 17 September to celebrate the culinary diversity of London. This event is the brainchild of supperclub chef Asma Khan of Darjeeling Express.
WHY?
Following the Brexit vote Asma wanted to do something positive as she
suddenly felt her “home” for 25 years felt a little more distant and
unwelcoming. The majority in this country had supported the side whose
referendum campaign had been so hostile to immigrants and “outsiders”
….Asma was not willing to drown in darkness and came up with this idea to
host a series of supperclubs to celebrate the diversity of London food and
highlight what makes London so amazing: The rich mix of people, the quirky,
the exotic and the eccentric!
WHAT GUESTS WILL TAKE AWAY FROM THIS EVENT
"I want this to be a positive and uplifting experience, for those cooking and also the guests. We have much to celebrate in this beautiful city. The food is definitely world class. If you walk into any kitchen from the grandest Michelin star restaurant to a humble café, the chances are you will find people working in the kitchen of all nationalities. I hope by hosting this event, we can highlight and celebrate the contribution of all these people who have made London their home." -- Asma Khan, Darjeeling Express
