We are offering the Congolese experience as part of our I AM CONGO event. This is a charity event with proceeds from all tickets sales going to the Panzi Hospital Foundation.
The Commune Cafe will be themed with Congolese decor whilst hosting our I AM CONGO art campaign. We are offering a Congolese menu of Congolese spiced Chicken or Vegan Stew with your choice of Cous Cous or Brown rice, sided with fried plantain, corn bread, puff puff, and salad. After dinner we are having Soap Box style spoken word to raise awareness of what's happening in East Congo.
I AM CONGO is an exhibition of various creative art forms to communicate an important message and bring current issues in Congo to light. Margaret Mead Said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has."
It is the goal of Hatched Gallery and Carpe Diem to create an artistic event that will inspire people to help East Congo, by raising funds to offer some relief for the Panzi Hospital Foundation. A Hospital, in South Kivu, a province in eastern Democfatice Republic of Congo, dedicated to the treatment of the survivors of sexual abuse and violence.
