This short course is a great introduction to wild food foraging in the city!
Food Safari’s urban wild food expert, Nick Saltmarsh, will take you on a guided foray around the wild and less wild parts of Stoke Newington, North London. We’ll discover the abundance wild greens, nuts and fruits growing on your doorstep – from nettles and wild garlic, to blackberries and wild apples.
You will pick up tips about how you can cook or preserve them at home and try some delicious wild food snacks to whet your appetite for foraging in the city.
What you’ll get out of the day
This is a great introduction to foraging in the city. You’ll gain confidence to identify wild food and know where to pick it safely and legally.
* Of course it’s up to nature and the variable seasons what we actually find and will make on the day. The day will be more about identifying wild foods than picking huge amounts!
