I will be cooking my guests a feast of dishes from my childhood in Suriname. All made with fresh ingredients and made from scratch according to recipes from my mother, my aunts and grandmother, the women who taught me to cook and started my love affair with food.
Expect a delicious mix of Creole, Chinese, Javanese and Indian dishes.

Soto Ayam- fragrant Indonesian chicken soup. (Veg option available too)

Bami goreng- Indonesian noodles stir fried in homemade soy sauce (V)

My mother's chicken- Chinese chicken marinated in homemade sweet and spicy marinade according to my mother's recipe and served with wood ear mushroom

Bacalao- Creole salt fish in a spicy tomato sauce

Tempeh Goreng- Indonesian tempeh served in a sweet and spicy sauce (V)

Gado gado- Indonesian salad with peanut dressing (V)

Coconut rice- Creole rice boiled in coconut milk (V)

Homemade sambal- spicy chilli sauce (V)

Cucumber salad (V)

Pineapple upside down cake (V)

Absolutely loved the food. It was our first time trying Surinamese and we fell in love with it. Wish there were restaurants offering this food in London, so we could have it more often.

Jessica was fantastic!. The other people who had signed up for the same date dropped out. I told her, we could reschedule if she preferred, but she honored her commitment.

As a home cook, I know how much effort is involved in cooking up a large menu and its easier if you are cooking for a large group rather than just a couple. We were very impressed by her commitment and the food.

Super delicious and I still dream of that pineapple upside down cake (this from someone who doesn't normally like fruits and hates them in her dessert)

She even gave us a bottle of her home made marinade to try and the resulting chicken and pork were delicious
