Since we've been literally covered by a flurry of requests for this one and we haven't got enough space to give everybody a seat, the BackDoor Kitchen decided to do a 2nd round of its Sparkling Night event!
A supperclub dedicated to two of chef's greatest passions: sparkling wines and seafood!
An incredibily inspired menu, a wine tasting session with a professional sommelier, 4 great sparkling wines, 4 courses with tons of seafood and a secret dessert as well.
You don't even need to bring your own bottle, as we'll be offering the booze this time (FREE extra top ups up to 3 glasses for each wine) :D

- CHEF'S WHITE GAZPACHO WITH CLAM SAUTEED IN ANCHOVY SAUCE – a new surrealistic extravaganza
Matched with The Brut and the Beast, soft bubbles from Piedmont, appley and smokey with a pleasant finish to the palate
- SCALLOPS SALTIMBOCCA – Tender, meaty scallop gently wrapped in San Daniele Ham and slowly cooked with white wine and sage
Matched with Colombaia Frizzante, Gentle bubbles from Tuscany? Yes folks and you better get ready for it!
- GRIGLIATE POLLOCK @ n47 – Celebrating Pollock’s creative genius chef presents Char-grilled Prawn, calamari, octopus and scallop served with different flavoured mayonnaise
Matched with Luna y Sol, made from the classic black grape of Sicily: Nero D’avola. This fruity, round sparkling is vinified as white wine!
- CACIO E PEPE STYLE SQUID INK RISOTTO TOPPED WITH SAUTEED MUSSELS – a classic fish risotto with an unusual Pecorino Romano twist, a feast of contrasts and aromas all combined in one dish
Matched with Perle, a sparkling chardonnay Pinot Noir from France
- SECRET DESSERT - A summer version of a gorgeous Italian dessert

What can I say - Backdoor Kitchen were an amazing introduction to the London food scene! One week off the boat, I went to the Backdoor Kitchen by myself, not knowing what would expect me (after all, at that point in time I didn't even know what a supper club was). Fabio and Roberto made me instantly feel very welcome and at home in their lovely small kitchen. Great setting: open kitchen to watch them cook, communal table with lively discussions and many laughs and a lot of interaction between the chefs and the guests. Great to tap into their knowledge of where to get the best ingredients in London and to learn about Italian food.
The dishes were absolutely delicious, and already after the first course did we start to drop our manners to scratch every little bit of sauce off the plate with our fingers, so good was it. They cook delicious, authentic Italian cuisine like you would find in a small, family run restaurant in some small street of an Italian town. Very good, fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and good explanations so that everyone can learn something about Italian food culture.
Colleen was very knowledgable and fun and made us discover very unusal sparkling wines. Definitively a great addition to the Italian team!
Loved it so much that I booked the next event right away, and my 2nd supper club with them (a Venetian Bacaro) did not let me down - again very yummy food and a lot of fun people.
Definitely a MUST for any Italian food lover in London!
