What is it?
A Bacaro is a traditional Venice boozer where a good glass of wine or glorious tap Prosecco are served along with small bites and snacks.
Why is this supperclub different from our usual supperclubs?
In a classic Bacaro spirit we will treat you as in a Venice boozer, we’ll offer you a giro d’ombra, a complimentary Prosecco jug to share, we’ll bring some pots and pans over the table and serve along our guests whilst having a chat and a laugh. Every course will be cicheti size, small bites and snacks, but you won’t leave until completely satisfied and full.
What do you have to do?
Bring your own bottle (possibly prosecco), click the link below where it says “Book now” and be our guest!

What a fantastic night out - delicious food, passionate hosts, eclectic company and flowing conversation. Most impressive though was how far other guests had traveled draw by BackDoor Kitchen's reputation, which is quite clearly well deserved. Couldn't recommend more highly...

This was, quite simply, one of the best Italian meals I have ever had. Everything was so delicious, beautifully cooked and expertly judged. There were about six courses, but brought to the table 'family style' to share - and the portions were just right (although I may just have sneaked a second helping of the amazing risotto...more of that later). We began with an octopus carpaccio that the boys had prepared 36 hours in advance - then squid cooked in a garicky mix of its own ink, then shrimp fried in batter with a gloriously rich saffron aioli... then delicate crab ravioli, one side of the pasta made with black squid ink, garnished with cubes of zucchini... I thought that was my favourite dish until the risotto - what a total triumph! A huge pot was brought to the table and served up on individual plates - rich with marscapone, red wine and radicchio. It knocked spots of the risotto I had at River Cafe. There was a bit of a pause before the final savoury course (yes, there was more...) veal meatballs with a beautiful porcini sauce. I've never really had a meatball I liked - until now. Wow. Dessert was lovely too - a moist cinnamon walnut cake with a really crunchy crust, liberally drizzled with white chocolate. It was worth the trek to deepest south London - and the boys were so friendly, it was a total pleasure. When's the next one?
A special supper club event

We had yet another wonderful evening with the lovely "Back Door" boys last night at their very welcoming abode south of the river. Roberto the chef is smoking hot in the kitchen while his partner Fabio is a fine front of house fella - good vibes and lively conversation are guaranteed.
Our menu was a special creation which Roberto had put together for our motley crew of foodie friends and he took us on on a culinary journey from Venice via Rome to Sicily. Classic dishes given the signature Back Door twist and styling.
All six plates of food were fantastic but the stand out dishes for me were the delicious deep fried prawns with an extra tasty saffron mayo, an amazing garlicky squid cooked in its own ink and a stunning risotto Romano. These guys love the produce they work with and this is reflected in the sourcing, preparation and presentation of their food.
If you are new to supper clubs this would be a great, friendly place to start. Very highly recommended and a real bargain at £25 per person.
