Here at Mustard Seed we LOVE food! We love to grow and produce our own food. We love to cook and demonstrate fabulous recipes. We love to sit round a table and eat! We see food as an expression of love; it’s an expression of giving and of sharing; and an expression of community. Whether we are growing that food, or producing it, whether we are showing you how to cook it at home, or serving it to you at one of our events, it will always be seasonal, it will always be home grown or locally produced, and it will always be simple and delicious!

09 Mar 13 by Mustard SeedMustard Seed - Essex Based Supper Club, Cookery Classes & Private Catering
This was the first Mustard Seed supper club / event I've attended (though not my first supper club). It won't be the last. From the outset Katherine and her husband Peter made me feel very welcome in their lovely home, and as the other guests arrived there was a real buzz of excitement.
Whilst the ambience was great, the food was the real star of the show - as it should be - and every dish far exceeded my expectations which to be honest, were pretty darn high to start with. I was quite surprised - pleasantly I hasten to add - how subtle each dish was. I was expecting some fairly fierce heat (I'm a man who likes my spices) but instead Katherine had gone for complex, interesting flavours. My stomach's beginning to rumble just thinking about it.
The biggest surprise of the evening though was the desert, which was out of this world. If I told you it was a chocolate brownie, with a side of ice cream, and a drizzle of caramel sauce, I wouldn't be doing it or the chef justice. What Katherine actually served was a religious experience on a plate, and I vowed then and there to book myself into one of her cookery classes in the not too distant future.
Thanks Katherine for a wonderful evening.

Supper club with Mustard Seed is always an amazing experience, and the Mexican evening was utterly fantastic! It's fair to say, there were a few uncertain, almost apprehensive peeps expecting 'blow your head off food', who started out very tentatively at first, but there was no need to fret, Katherine very cleverly blended flavours, spices, and all kinds of chillies in a way that was a delightful taste experience. Texture, flavour, presentation and 5 perfect courses meant we all made it to the final course feeling sated, and having learned a lot about Mexican food along the way. The company was wonderful, we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. An evening at Mustard seed's supper club is an evening of surprise, interesting company and fabulous food.
