At Rajiv's Kitchen we believe in bringing people together to enjoy authentic Nepalese home cooked cuisine,  while providing a fun, friendly and attentive service.

On the 11th of October, we are collaborating with award winning mixologist David Hamilton Boyd from Organic Spirit (@OrganicSpirit), for a one-off Nepalese cuisine & cocktail event; "Kathmandu and cocktails!" David has over seventeen years of experience in London’s finest and most exclusive cocktail bars, and has won international awards for his wonderful flavour combinations.

The event includes 4 course Nepalese meal ( Pre-starter, Starter, a variety of main dishes to share & a dessert). 

There will be cocktail making classes in between the courses, where you will get to make 3 of your own delicious & unique cocktails . All the cocktails are designed to compliment the menu.

 

The menu for this event includes:

Complimentary Welcome Drink: A glass of Prosecco upon arrival

1ST COCKTAIL:

Safron and lime leaf infused gin, shaken with watermelon, sugar and lime juice 

PRE-STARTER:

Lamb/Chicken Nepalese meatballs served with spicy eggplant, garlic yogurt & green chutney. 

STARTER:

Pork momos served with spicy tomatoes & sesame sauce.

*Momos are Nepalese dumplings

2ND COCKTAIL

Passion fruit, basil, and mint, muddled with rum and vanilla syrup

MAIN COURSE

Kathmandu curry: Braised mutton cooked with cashew nuts/paste and Nepalese herb and spices.

Aalo ko achaar: Potatoes, cucumber & red onions fresh pickle tempered with fenugreek flavoured oil & hemp seeds. (served cold)

Kukhura Alaichi: Lemon & Black cardamom infused chicken cooked with oyster mushroom & Nepalese herb & spices. 

Tarkaari: Nepalese fresh vegetable curry.  

Sekuwa: Classic Nepali Chicken skewers, marinated overnight with szechuan pepper, nutmeg, lime zest & yogurt.

****Main is served with paratha bread/fragrant rice.

3RD COCKTAIL

Prosseco, orange blossom water, white chocolate syrup

DESSERT

Coconut ice-cream with pomegranate and pistachio nuts.

We use fresh local produce/ingredients bought on the same day for our cooking.
If you are vegetarian or have any food allergies, please inform us in advance so we can improvise our menu to suit your needs.

Worth every penny!

I was a bit unsure about spending £45 on a supperclub, but it was worth every penny and more. Not only was the food DELICIOUS and generous, the cocktail lessons were fun and very professionally delivered. I loved the combination of Rajiv's food with inter-course cocktail lessons. There wasn't a dull moment. I went with my family and I'd thoroughly recommend Rajiv's Kitchen to anyone looking for a fun and quality night out with a difference.

The evening was lovely, the food was tasty and the cocktails where original.

An excellent night! Great food! Spicy and very filling. Something I haven't experienced before and a great idea to mix the cocktails in between. I will definitely attend again. Highly recommended!!!!

Had a really enjoyable night. It was the first 'supper club' I had attended and definitely keen to go to more. Food was lovely, had fun making the cocktails (which tasted great) and was Rajiv and his team were very welcoming. I am a vegetarian and Rajiv was very happy to cater for my needs which was really appreciated.

I really like Nepalese food and this was delicious. I loved the dessert! Rajiv is a sweet and generous host who made everyone feel at home. The people at my table were lovely and a lot of fun. The cocktails were fun to make and I learnt some new tips.

We had no idea of what to expect of this evening, but were delighted as it was so much fun and so delicious!

The cocktail making inbetween courses was a great idea and meant we chatted with the other guests on our table. The cocktails were really good to drink too.

The food was great and Rajiv really accommodating when I informed him that I didn't eat nuts (he made a separate dessert for me) and the vegetarian menu was really superb.

I have had Nepalese food all of twice now and think I am a convert.

This is the 2nd time I have dined at Rajiv's Kitchen, although this time was not in the surrounds of his lovely home in Bethnal Green, but instead in a new restaurant/warehouse space above the Palm 2 corner shop in Clapton. Great venue!

The tables were set ready with cocktail making bits n bobs, which set the scene for the night. The cocktail master obviously knew his stuff and lead the group through some interesting taste sensations.

First course was the Momo's; my favourite, accompanied by a spicy tomoto chilli concoction (deelish). Then came the next starter, which was a spicy Nepalese meatball on top of some eggplant, and some tasty sauce. Loved it.

The main was a selection of about 4 dishes; veg and meat curries.

By the end of the night I was truly full to busting, and more than a little tipsy!!

This is now my 3rd supper club. Although Rajiv is a kind an caring host, the food itself was a bit of let down. Nothing spectacular at all and although I paid the pricey sum of £45, on my return home I made myself a cheese and ham sandwich as I was still hungry.

The mixologist showed us how to make 3 cocktails, but to be honest I've had a lot better and the mojito was bland.

All in all too expensive for what it is.

Rajiv's kitchen was truly scrumptious. We thought the dishes were very well prepared and we could really taste the passion and effort in the cooking.

We loved the collaboration with the cocktail mixologist and we were entertained throughout the evening - making our own cocktails, learning from the expert about the spirits and the various other ingredients that went into our drinks and generally enjoying the whole experience - the food, the cocktails and the company of our fellow diners.

The service was attentive, the atmosphere was relaxed and we were very pleased that we were sufficiently quenched with water and wine throughout the evening.

A big thumbs up!
