For one day only, Emily and Amy of the Rangoon Sisters and MiMi Aye aka Meemalee of Burmese Food and Beyond will be hosting a collaborative Burmese feast, in aid of the Red Cross in Myanmar. It coincides with the Festival of Lights, Thadingyut .

The Rangoon Sisters were recently featured as number 1 in the Observer Food Monthly’s “Best things in Food 2018”. MiMi is an esteemed food writer and expert on Burmese Food, author of cookbook, “Noodle!” and the forthcoming “Mandalay: Burmese Food and Beyond”, out next summer. Together they’ve wanted to host a super event for a few years and they’ve finally got their act together.

The 5 course menu £45 will include

Tohu Kyaw - Burmese Tofu fritters

Chet tha thoke - Chicken salad

Mohinga - Fish noodle chowder

Pork and mango curry

Cinnamon chicken

Side soup and salad

Rice

Lahpet thoke - pickled tea leaf salad

Dessert (tbc)

Note food will contain shrimp, fish and peanuts. Unfortunately it will be a set menu but we will have a vegetarian menu (please specify when booking). Bar available - this is not a bring your own event.

Huge thanks to Jen and the team at Jenius Social for their generous donation of the venue and their time and energy to this event. And another big thank you to Katrina and John at Bayin Foods for generously donating their fantastic lahpet, bean mix and lovely oils.
