Marking the end of the month of Ramadan, where Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset- the Eid feast is a meal where every family cooks dishes which are traditionally associated with this festival. The traditions vary from region to region. The meal I am preparing for this Eid Supperclub has the traditional dishes my grandmother made on Eid. Till I left India, it was always in my grandmothers house where I would spend the day with my extended family. Dressed in my new Eid "jora" (outfit)....counting the "Eidi" (gifts of money) I had received from the family....and haggling with older cousins on how much Eidi they should give me!
In keeping with the Eid tradition- Ananya Cards(www.ananyacards.com) has sent me some special Eid cards to give to all the guests. The picture I have used for this Eid Supperclub is one of her Eid card designs...Ananya cards have that perfect mix of tradition and modern. The cards are really beautiful!
This is a BYOB event.
