Jugalbandhi जुगलबंधी is a collaboration between two Indian musicians of different musical traditions. In the performance, both artists play a solo piece on different instruments often with very different rhythm and beat- at some point in the performance the music seems to merge. The Supperclub on the 12th is a jugalbandhi of a different type.
The venue of the Supperclub is The Borough Barista St James's (near Piccadilly Circus) where the photographic exhibition of Jack Fillery's pictures of his Indian subcontinent journey is being hosted.
Jack Fillery is an award-winning photographer based in Peckham, London. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally, and was recently shortlisted for the Professional Photographer Magazine's Professional Photographer of the Year award. According to Jack
"Despite the chaos and its infinite cultures and personalities, everything in India feels like it belongs where it is – nothing, nor nobody seems out of place or irregular...."
That is the story of his journey.
The Darjeeling Express journey is about discovering the layered subtleties of spicing. A chance to savour authentic regional dishes, and appreciate the flavours and tastes each spice brings to a dish.
Jack will be talking about his photographs and his experience in India at the supperclub. I will be talking about spice.

The highly talented A Grape Night In will be hosting a pop up wine bar at the venue. They will be selling wine by the glass and bottles too. In you need any information about the wines- please email email@example.com This is not a BYOB event.
In an earlier event we hosted together- I believe they were able to pair a wine to match my Tamarind chutney- an amazing feat considering the complex flavours of the chutney!
