A Supperclub Summit Event
Ostalgie, or Soviet chic dinner. Russian glamorous dining, and then some…
Russian Revels are two Russians revolutionising the image of Eastern-European food, by serving light, luscious and sexy Slavic dishes at characterful venues across London. They forage though pre-revolutionary cookbooks, re-invent Russian classics and create radical interpretations of recipes from across the ex-USSR.
A bit of Dostoevsky-esque Russian drama is a delicious component of their dinners. 1930s Russian tango, collective vodka toasting, clandestine games, dressing up in your best furs and silks. Besides, food has never fed the belly alone…
Russian Revels are inviting you to a glamorous dinner-party of Russian zakuski - delectable ‘Russian tapas' with very cold vodka cocktails served by charming pioneer girls and boys - Soviet chic at its best…
Inspired by memories of the topsy-turvy world of the USSR, this is a delicious and humorous 21st century twist to the food from behind the ‘Iron Curtain’.
The dinner will consist of about 8-10 tapas-style dishes, such as (this may change):
Vodka and watermelon lollipops
Russian Revels pickles (including the illustrious golden gherkins)
‘Bloody Mary’ 30 day aged beef
Potatoes baked in hay with a selection of fillings, eg home-made curd cheese and Georgian lobio (spicy bean and walnut dip)
Jars of summer peas with melted butter
Baltic truffles with sea buckthorn
Olympic Bear cake, one of our mother’s recipes served with very black Russian tea
Tickets are £38 (including all the food, a welcoming alcoholic treat and all the entertaining extras)
