hosted by The Avenue Cookery School
The Avenue’s Off to Uni course specialises in teaching the foundations of cooking to prospective university and college students who are leaving home and need to learn this invaluable life skill.
By the end of this 5 day intensive programme you will have progressed from little to no knowledge of cooking to a confident cook.
This course has been designed to guide the inexperienced through a week of well planned, traditional recipes and techniques. We offer “hands on” courses offering plenty of help and support but at the same time explaining that there is no better route to success than practice.
Every Thursday there is the, now famous, dinner party for students and their friends. This popular dinner is organised, cooked and hosted by the students. Fantastic introduction to hosting and cooking for numbers.
Emphasis is made on affordable eating for those budgeting for university, providing a wonderful start to an independent and healthy life.
This course is great as a gift from family and friends who want their loved ones to learn some nutritious and delicious recipes and techniques before they leave the roost.
Suitable for those completing their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Scheme where there are evening activities, which can be anything from a quiz to a movie night or if the sun is shining a kick around in the park.
