South Indian cookery is simple and full of flavour. Contrary to the belief that Masala Dosa is complicated to make at home; I will be showing you just how easy it is to prepare this fantastic gluten free lunch at home.
In this class you will be learning some popular south Indian dishes such as:

3) Dosa Aloo
4) Lemon Rice

- Making a versatile curry base from scratch
- Serving suggestions
- Cooking perfect rice which retains the nutrients by absorption method
- Preparing ginger and garlic pastes
- Introduction to spices
- Information on sourcing and storing spices
- Tips for substituting ingredients
- Tips on cooking the food faster
- Basic knife skills and kitchen/food safety information
This hands on class offers you the opportunity to learn the basics and the traditional cooking techniques in the relaxed and informal atmosphere of my kitchen.
You will learn to balance the flavours by combining the spices and herbs which will produce amazing food using simple everyday ingredients. You will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions during the class, as you will have an added benefit of having the teacher guiding and explaining the procedure with you throughout the class.
I will talk you through the class menu and give a general introduction to the spices being used. You will then start cooking under the expert tuition of MasterChef 2014 Quarter Finalist Rani; learning everything you need to know to enable you to create an authentic Indian meal, classes include all ingredients, containers, utensils, aprons for the class, and recipes. You will taste the food as we go and will also be given the food that you have created during the lesson enough for two people and hopefully the skills to last you for a lifetime.
