Update: Our menu for the August Long Table is now up - see below for details.

Update 2: To mark our final Long Table of the summer on August 21, the lovely fellows and local boys of WildCard Brewery will be coming by to tell you all a little about their fantastic beer, which we're also featuring on the menu!

Following the great reception for the first set of Long Table dining events Just Hospitality have added another four dates.

The Tea Room is taking advantage of the William Morris Gallery's gorgeous, glass-roofed orangery extension to serve up some two course delights re-starting this Spring. These will celebrate Morris' ethos of sharing, beauty and community, as well as his passion for artisanal techniques.

Sit at the Long Table each month as chef Chris Pickett serves up meticulously prepared treats using the best of modern techniques and where taste is king. We'll also showcase a different microbrewer each month so you can wash down all that lovely food in style and enjoy the gallery as part of an open viewing.

Second visit just as good as the first

Once again, the food service and atmosphere at this event was fantastic. There's always a cheeky thrill at being somewhere after hours and it was great to have a bit of alone time with the William Morris museum, but it was the food that really made my evening. The night's repast was Lamb breast (moist meat crunchy top akin to pork belly), little cubes of roasted celeriac topped with dots of vivid green wild garlic puree, crispy charred broccoli all resting on a vinaigrette. Delicious separately, heavenly when combined. Pudding was a sort of steamed pecan sponge, topped with rhubarb cubes alongside granola and clotted cream. As with the main, the whole was even greater than the parts. All of this washed down with a drink from a carefully selected range. I'm not a foodie, but I love food and yet again The Long Table made my week with interesting and delicious treats.

If you have friends visiting you in Walthamstow take them here for a night out. You have the whole museum at your disposal. Just Hospitality were lovely hosts, when you arrive, you choose a craft beer and then are invited to choose a seat on the long table. Dinner was not served altogether as guests are encouraged to wander off before between and after courses.
The food when it arrived was really tasty and I have overheard complete strangers at another event praise the chef heartily.
Wine was also available to order by the bottle and very good quality wine had been chosen.
Pudding, well there were three in my party and we could only make noises of delight since every mouthful was heaven. We loved it so much another pudding was found for us to share.
I highly recommend this as an evening out and a great way to treat someone to a memorable evening. Anyone who books now has the privilege of viewing Jeremy Deller's exhibition as if you were at a private viewing followed by a very sociable delicious supper.
