Chateau Marmot is all about bringing the creativity and excitement of fine dining to an unexpected location near you, minus the stuffy atmosphere. Starch should be on potatoes, not table cloths.
We launched in 2012 and as well as creating lots of events in London, including November 2013’s sell out run with Laurent ‘LQ’ Quenioux, we’ve travelled far and wide, from a Victorian schoolhouse in York to a tea house in Melbourne, Australia.
In each location we serve a tasting menu which acts as a culinary snapshot of the time and place that it appears, always working closely with local suppliers and the best of what’s in season. Fairly priced matched wine flights are also always available, showcasing interesting and hard to find wines from independent suppliers as well as craft beers, cocktails and more. These have been created with the help of the Marmot’s sommelier, ex-Decanter editor Rosalind Cooper.
We also have the now famous cheese cart, packed with incredible local cheeses as well as the Chateau M signature hedgerow jams, jellies and other good things.
All this overseen our killer chef team lead by executive chef Ramael ‘Scully’ Scully, moonlighting from his job as an executive chef at London’s renowned Ottolenghi restaurant group. Scully is ably assisted by his colleague at Nopi, Christopher Lyon and Tim ‘Tonto’ Yates, executive chef at 100 Hoxton and Zilouf’s, two of London’s hottest new openings this year. Together with Scully they working their magic on the Chateau Marmot modern British template, applying the art and science of modern cooking techniques to the best British ingredients out there.
