For one night this month I will bring back one of my food craze, that is italian.
When I was living in Como, Italy years ago my in-laws seeing my love for good food would always take me to the farmers markets and best grocers in town to choose what will be cooked for dinner throughout the week. Yes I was spoilt. This was the part of Italy the tourist don't see, the best bits. To keep a long story short, in one word ''unbelievable''. An endless variety of fresh, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, hams, olive olive oil, pasta, wines.
Open my mind to such amazing ingredients and this is what it can result in:
4 Courses @ £25 (includes a glass of italian wine)
(a slow cooked caribbean vegetable soup top with parmesan)
Fegato E Fig
(goose liver with fig served with a mango relish)
Monk Fish & Fennel Risotto
(risotto cooked in a beef stock and parmesan with monk fish and shaved fennel)
Panna Cotta w Passion Fruit Sauce
(fresh panna cotta with a rich homemade passion fruit sauce)
I can guarantee you one thing, you maybe tempted to lick the plates when you are done. Truth be told, it's the best way to compliment the chef in Italy.
