Flavours of India
I am attempting to bring a few of my favourite dishes to the plate. Some that I’ve showcased before while others that I can’t wait to! This is authentic Indian food made from recipes that have been handed down the generations. Portions will be generous as the idea is to sit down to have a hearty Indian meal.
A reasonable range of drinks will be available to buy at the venue. There will also be a special selection of wines chosen to go with the food being served.
*Aaloo Papdi Chaat
A chaat favourite made with potatoes, crisp papdis and fresh coriander tossed with sweet, tangy and spicy chutneys.
*Daal Wada served with Nariyal ki Chutney
A South Indian fried snack of coarsely ground lentils with fresh herbs and a hint of chilli. Served with a traditional fresh coconut chutney.
*Punjabi Chicken Curry
This is a true classic that has stood the test of time. Chicken marinated in yoghurt and spices cooked in its own juices with onions and a hint of tomato.
*Paneer Bhurji (V)
This is a myth buster recipe (ask me why) handed down by my aunt. It is homemade cottage cheese cooked with tomatoes. Simplicity at its best..
Yoghurt with beetroot and a hint of chilli. This is a raita that looks as good as it tastes.
*Kali Daal (Maa ki daal)
This daal needs no introduction. Slow cooked to perfection with ginger and homemade ghee.
*Carrot and Peanut Salad
Wonderfully refreshing carrot salad with lime to add zing and roasted peanuts to add crunch.
*Gur Shakkar ka Halwa
Traditional semolina dessert that is often served as a breakfast accompaniment in the north of India. Gur is unrefined cane sugar that adds a rich molasses kind of flavour.
