What's more exotic than Caribbean cuisine? Colourful, spicy and delicious dishes are on the menu for our London-based Caribbean cooking classes.
Our Saturday Caribbean last 4 hours and covers a menu from starter to dessert! Learning Caribbean cooking with Vanessa Bolosier - our resident foodie, we guarantee you'll end up cooking up a flavoursome and delectable tropical storm. You’ll create traditional dishes such as saltfish salad, breadfruit cakes, plantain gratins and flambé mango.
In our 4-hour class, you’ll make four different courses which could include saltfish salad (salted cod paired with avocado - a traditional brunch from the French Caribbean - followed by breadfruit fried cakes, which is staples in Guadeloupe food and a also great side dish.
The 4-hour Caribbean cooking workshop is engineered to help you create your own Creole Caribbean dinner party. Recreate a tropical atmosphere with all the spices and aromas at the table and impress your guests. You'll then create a main dish which could be a red snapper court-bouillon (pronounced "coor boo-YONE", is a flavourful, aromatic liquid used for poaching fish and shellfish) or a chicken colombo curry ( the official Guadeloupe dish) with plantains ans sweet potatoes gratin - dauphinois style. Then finish up with flambé pineapple with caramelised fresh coconuts.
All of this paired with the best agricole rums in the Caribbean
We then email the recipes after the class so you can recreate the meal at home.
Our Caribbean classes will definitely add something a little different to your repertoire. Caribbean food uses lots of herbs and spices, such as chilies, curly parsley, ginger and spring onions. The food is very spicy and if you can handle a bit of burn, you'll have a blast trying your hand at mixing the flavours and adding a kick to your cooking.
After the class, you get to relax and enjoy the meal you prepared, so you get a Caribbean dining experience while learning to cook something different.
